My Renault Lodgy Experience

I was part of a blogger contingent chosen to experience the new Renault Lodgy in all its glory at Goa. It was a wonderful weekend, spent meeting marvelous people, engaging in passionate conversations, stimulating the gray cells and yes, experiencing the new MUV from Renault - The Lodgy.

We went for a drive from The Leela Kempinsky to The Lalit Ashok and it was a smooth ride all through. We were 5 guys, nestled comfortably in the realms of the spacious car.

I will not dwell into all the specifics technical details of the car which can be picked from here. Instead, I will talk about specific things I felt during the drive.

Before I start harping about all that I liked about this, I must make a confession that I am not an auto-fanatic. Yet, I liked what I saw, and more importantly what I experienced. Renault Lodgy looks like a good cross between genres of SUV and family sedans. It looks masculine, strong and powerful. Yet not so imposing. Chiseled looks, chrome finished dashboard, adaptable seating, body coloured door handles and side mirrors, chrome-finished scuff plate - the list is endless to give that impressive look to the case.

Seating comfort is great. You could close your eyes and fall into a slumber (provided of course the road is good and driver is steady). And so I did.

From the inside, it is super spacious, you can remove the middle seat altogether to create HUGE space - to literally camp inside the car, should there ever be a need. We were so impressed by this feature that we did an impromptu skit on the fact that Lodgy probably has more space than a typical 1 BHK in Mumbai. See the video here -

The driving is easy. Lodgy comes in 2 engine variants 110ps and 85 ps which deliver fuel efficiency of 19.98 kmpl and 21.04 kmpl as per Renault's claim. It has cruise control feature which is an amazing thing for highway long drives.
Coming to entertainment, media-nav console is a great ICE option. It doubles up as navigational assist and media control with touch screen-options. The music system is top-notch - we put it to test by pairing our cell phone with it. It has clear bass and treble controls and high-pitch sounds at high volumes are equally clear as lower basal ones. Pumping up the volume, driving on cruise-control, one can easily forget that the blissful experience is being delivered by driving the car - the Lodgy.

I have a big family and my current car always falls short of the number of seats it can offer can number of people I wish to seat. I guess Lodgy can break it as it can comfortably seat 7-8 people depending upon the configuration.

It is not often that you go for a promotional event and end up thinking of actually buying the product. It happened to me in this drive. I loved the fact that drive is as easy as a hatchback, yet, the power and comfort of a SUV is packed in a neat price package of 8.5 Lacs onwards!

I wish I could pick one of these beautiful options that day and bring home!

We had true fun driving it around and living the Lodgycal experience! Watch this video if you are not convinced.

I would recommend, you take a test-ride and decide for your-self. I find Lodgy perfect bang-for-buck, a full paisa vasool deal. My experience was truly first class, and I hope yours is too!
